‘This is the most important thing we’ve learned’ from the ‘Mass Media’ documentary: Why the Internet has become a threat
A documentary that aired on Monday night has shaken the foundation of the “media industry”, but also highlighted the role of technology in shaping what we think and feel.
The film, Mass Media, was directed by Michael Moore and features several high profile interviews from people who were part of the creation and growth of the internet.
But what made the film stand out was its examination of how technology and media has shaped our social media lives and the social media landscape itself.
Moore is one of a number of artists, thinkers and writers who have recently been targeted for their involvement in the technology that underpins much of the modern internet.
His work on social media and online communities, for example, has been heavily influenced by the work of digital activist Alex Jones, who has often accused the media of covering up his true beliefs and methods.
Moore told Al Jazeera that the documentary was an opportunity to highlight how the internet has shaped society, particularly in the form of its influence on politics and entertainment.
“This is something that has always fascinated me, and I’m not saying that this is a new phenomenon, but I think it’s something that’s been going on for a very long time,” Moore said.
“We are a generation of people who live in an age of information, which is very different from the time of Gutenberg, and we’ve all been influenced by this and have been told, ‘Oh, this is just the way it is.'”
Moore, who is an advocate of the idea of a free press, said that he had seen a significant change in society in the past decade.
“I think the idea that you can be free to express yourself online without fear of retribution is very important,” he said.
Moore said that, as he saw it, it was “quite remarkable” that people felt comfortable using technology to “distribute their opinions without fear” in the aftermath of the Newtown massacre.
“The internet has created a lot of possibilities,” he told Al-Jazeera.
The idea of “The Mass Media” Moore and his team believe that the internet is fundamentally changing the way we communicate. “
And that’s what I think is so great about it.”

“Technology is creating an entirely new way of organising the world that is fundamentally different from anything that has existed before,” Moore told The Australian.
Moore also spoke of the power of social media to give a voice to marginalized communities. “
That means people no longer have to have an office, they no longer need to be in a place, and they no more have to pay rent, so that is a completely new way to organise things.”
Moore also spoke of the power of social media to give a voice to marginalized communities.
“It is also a very powerful tool for the people who are actually being oppressed by those in power, so when you have the internet and you can use that to say something, to create a change, and to express your opinions and your beliefs, that is quite powerful,” he added.
“But the internet also creates a very different way of speaking to the people in power.”
And that power is being challenged, Moore said, with new forms of media.
“When you see people using Twitter to express their frustration with something that they are feeling, that’s not the first time you have seen that.
Mass Media has not been without its critics. “
So we’re seeing new forms that are coming online, so people are not being allowed to express themselves as they would like.”
Mass Media has not been without its critics.
A Twitter account belonging to Moore has previously been hacked and published the content of a conversation between him and a man in a wheelchair.
The account has since been taken down, but Moore told the Australian that the conversation itself was “an important part of what’s happening in our culture”.
“What I want to make clear is that this wasn’t an attack on me personally,” he continued.
“These were people on the internet who are saying things that I do not agree with, that are making a political point.”
And Moore’s argument for the importance of the medium of the media was echoed by his colleagues in the industry.
“If the internet wasn’t a medium, people would be in their bedrooms and they would be doing nothing,” said one of the producers of the film.
“They would be just sitting around.
They wouldn’t be making any money.
They would be on welfare, on their pension, or they would have no internet at all.”
The “mass media” phenomenon Moore and other activists have been speaking out against is largely driven by the rise of online activism.
“Over the last few years we’ve seen a whole generation of young people who have come out of university, who
